Ruth Roman (n e Gold) was born in Lynn at Massachusetts. Her parents were Lithuanian Jewish immigrants Mary Pauline and Abraham Roman. At the age of five the carnival barker father died and left her mother with no choice but to work as a cleaning girl and waitress to support her family. Ruth lived in a tenement community that was poor of Boston, Massachusetts, where she was educated. Her school was closed in two years, to go into acting. Her path did not come without challenges. When she was in New York, her first task was to pose stills for crime magazines. acting work she longed to do was abyssal. Then in NYC, she worked at a bar as the check-in lady before resigning and moving back to Boston. In the New England Repertory Company was her first gig as an actor who was steady. Earned money doing shifts during the day, as an usherette. She has also been accepted into Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she was a drama student.
